Robin W. Pifer

Here is a little about my life…

I was born in Orillia, Ontario and spent my primary school years in the town and on a small farm in outside of Orillia.  When I was going into grade 8 my Dad was transferred to London, Ontario where I graduated from Sir Wilfred Laurier Secondary School.  It was at this time that I was encouraged in my calling to be a Christian leader through the ministry of my home church – Glen Cairn Baptist church.

I have been married to my wife Gwen who has been my partner in ministry and mission for 30 years.  We have 7 children, five of our own and two through marriage to our two oldest children.  We are also grandparents.  This year I am celebrating 30 years in church leadership.  I have a passion to mentor, coach and multiply leaders in the local church,  business and non profit sectors.

I graduated from Tyndale University College with a BTH (Bachelor of Theology) in 1986 while I was serving at Rosedale Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Gordon Stephens who was my mentor during my undergrad studies.  After graduation, Gwen and I were married and served in our first church together, Waverley Fellowship in Winnipeg Manitoba (1986-1994) where our four children were born.

From there we served once again as the lead pastoral couple at Burnett Fellowship in Maple Ridge B.C. (1994-1999).  I undertook a number of MDIV courses at Northwest Baptist Seminary.  From Maple Ridge we moved back to Ontario to lead Calvary Baptist Church in Guelph Ontario (1999-2008).

It was in Guelph that I was asked to become the Vice President of the Fellowship Baptists ( developing networks in Leadership Development, Church Multiplication (church starts) and Church Health.  It was at this time that I switched from an MDIV program to an MBA Leadership program graduating from Liberty University.  During this time I continued to coach leaders both at the local church level, business leaders and consulting churches.  With transitions and a new direction at the National Fellowship, Gwen and I came to the conclusion that we were to be open to a new opportunity for local church ministry.

From February 2011 – June 2015 we served at Cedarview Alliance Church ( as the Lead pastor in Nepean Ontario where I took the church through a time of healing and transition.     During this time our fifth child came into our family supernaturally through adoption.

Currently, I am the lead pastor at Oxford Baptist Church in Woodstock Ontario  It is a great blessing to be serving at Oxford again since I was a pastoral intern at this church in 1984 under the leadership and mentoring of George Bradford.  What is interesting is that three pastors from Oxford have been instrumental in my own development as a pastor leader.  Thankful to Dr. Gordon Stephens and his wife Lois, Pastor George Bradford and Pastor George Hay for being such great examples in my life.

I am a certified life and leadership coach and  member of the John Maxwell team.  I am working toward a PHD program through Master’s International University of Divinity with an emphasis on Pastoral Theology and Leadership.

I am also the Co-director of Core Church Solutions with my wife Gwen where we along with our team are “serving churches and non-profits through Leadership Coaching, Consulting and Executive Search Strategies”.

My great purpose is to be Courageous for His Mission and leave a legacy of Spiritual, Servant, Sacrificial, Submitted Leadership.
